Litigation

Sanders Pianowski, LLP has been known as a force in regional litigation practice for decades. Bob Sanders and Matt Yeakey head the attorneys of the firm who have tried cases to juries and judges throughout Northern Indiana and Southern Michigan, in all State and Federal Courts. While we are ever mindful of the cost and stress associated with litigation, when disputes cannot be resolved by amicable means, we have the resources, ability and experience to handle virtually any type of legal dispute.

In recent years, our attorneys have successfully defended cases involving products liability, wrongful death, tortious assault, defamation, personal injury by vehicular accident, slip and fall, breach of contract, noncompetition agreements, collection and foreclosure actions, insurance coverage disputes, discrimination, sexual harassment, wrongful termination and a myriad of other claims and suits.

When quick action is necessary, our attorneys have the resources and expertise to seek and obtain immediate relief in court. We have recently had several cases in which temporary restraining orders or preliminary injunctions were necessary to protect our client's proprietary interests. Not only did we secure and enforce immediate relief, in those cases where the law permitted the recovery of attorney's fees, we also obtained appropriate awards for the benefit of our clients.

Our attorneys have also been active in appellate practice in both state and federal courts. The firm was recently successful in persuading the Indiana Supreme Court to reverse an award of punitive damages and to pronounce a new standard and redefine the entire law pertaining to such damages in the case of Stroud v. Lints , 790 N.E.2d 440 (Ind. 2003).
