James L. Todd

Jim has been a partner with the firm for more than 15 years, having started his legal career with a large firm in Ohio, where he practiced Real Estate and Business Law. At Sanders Pianowski, LLP, Jim concentrates his practice in Estate Planning and Administration; Real Estate; Business Law and Mergers and Acquisitions.

Jim graduated from the Naval Academy with a Bachelor of Science degree and served in the U.S. Marine Corps as a jet pilot. It was while he served a tour as a non-lawyer trial counsel prosecuting courts-martial that he decided to pursue a career in the law. He has a J.D. degree from Valparaiso University, where he was an associate editor with the Valparaiso University Law Review. He is admitted to practice in the States of Indiana and Ohio, the United States District Courts for the Northern and Southern Districts of Indiana and the Southern District of Ohio. He is a member of the Elkhart City, Indiana State and Ohio State Bar Associations, the Estate Planning Council of Elkhart County and the Elkhart Chamber of Commerce.

Jim is a former Board Member and past President of Child Abuse Prevention Services of Elkhart County. Jim is married to Norma and has two adult daughters, one is a medical doctor and the other resides in Germany.
