Real Estate and Land Use Planning

Robert C. Daniels, one of the founding members of the firm, dedicated his professional practice to real estate matters and was acknowledged as the premier expert in his field by local banks, realtors and title agencies. That legacy of excellence has been continued and burnished by Jim Todd and Jason Ward, who, working closely with other professionals, represent clients in matters ranging from simple leases through complex and innovative real estate transfers.

On behalf of a financial institution client, the firm was asked to research and implement a transfer of air rights above a commercial building. The result was the first known instance in Indiana of such a transaction, and the rights were successfully conveyed, secured by comprehensive title insurance.

The firm also regularly represents clients in municipal and county land use proceedings, including applications for zoning changes, special use permits and variances, as well as litigation arising from land use disputes.
