Garrick recently joined Sanders Pianowski and practices in intellectual property with a focus on patent drafting and litigation. Prior to joining Sanders Pianowski, Garrick was a partner at a boutique IP firm in South Bend where he prosecuted design and utility patents, represented plaintiffs and defendants in patent infringement litigation, drafted license and settlement agreements, and drafted trademark applications and oppositions.
Garrick received a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Valparaiso University and worked as an engineer for 18 years before going to law school to become a patent attorney. Garrick received his JD degree from Thomas M. Cooley Law School in 2009. Garrick is admitted to practice in Indiana, the United States District Courts for the Northern District, the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, and the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). Garrick leverages his engineering experience to assist clients with their intellectual property needs.
Garrick is a member of Elkhart Noon Rotary, the Indiana State and Elkhart City Bar Associations and a mentor at the robotics program at Elkhart High School. Garrick is married and has two children.
